Saturday 5th July: Stockton Heath & Warrington during the British Civil Wars

Paul Wright the Chair of the Battle of Winwick Society and North West Regional Chair for the Battlefields Trust. Stockton Heath found itself at the front line of the fighting in all three conflicts that occurred within England during 1642 to 1651. Read more here.

Sunday 6th July: Warrington at War and Peace 1938 to 1945 and the legacy

A Festival headliner event. Well-known local historian Janice Hayes tells the fascinating and unique story of Warrington’s role in the Second World War and how this shaped our present day town. View more here.

Heritage Walk South: Stockton Heath South via Red Lane

The walk goes up Red Lane and past Hill Cliffe Baptist Church, it is suitable for people with a reasonable level of mobility.

Heritage Walk North: Stockton Heath North of the Bridgewater Canal

Meet outside Alexandra Park Café, WA4 2UT.

Places are limited and early booking is recommended. The walks are suitable for all ages. Adult tickets are £5 per walk, children are free but must be accompanied by an adult.
